Numeric Field Criteria

You may restrict your search to records whose numeric fields have values above or below a specified number, or whose values are within a specified range. Each of the four numeric criteria (Date, Price, Height, Width, and AMPR Year) starts with a drop-down list where you can choose which kind of numeric comparison you wish to make. This is followed by one or two entry fields (two, if you are specifying a range, otherwise one), where you type in numbers. The Price criterion also has a drop-down list where you can specify the currency. The Height and Width criteria have drop-down lists where you can choose between centimeters and inches. (These two measurement unit drop-down lists move in tandem: If you change one, the other one changes along with it.)

If you enter more than one numeric criterion (for example, both a Date criterion and a Price criterion), then records will only be returned which meet both criteria. In boolean terms, there is an implicit AND relationship among multiple numeric criteria. You cannot specify an OR relationship.

See the section on Database Fields for a complete description of how these numeric fields are defined (for example, what date is used when an AMPR map entry specifies multiple dates or a range of dates).

Note: If you enter a non-numeric, or out-of-range, value in a numeric field, the program will not let you perform a search until a valid value has been entered.

See the section on Numeric and Text Search Examples for examples of the use of the numeric search criteria.
