A new Search Results window appears when you initiate a new request from the Search Screen. The title bar shows what the serarch criteria were, and the label above the list indicates how many records were returned by the search. The results will appear in the form of a Match List, which is a scrolling list of all of the matching records returned by the search.
You can choose which columns to display in the Match List through the Field Selection Dialog, which is invoked from the View menu. (Or type Ctrl-V for accelerated access to the Field Selection Dialog.) See the section on the Field Selection Dialog for details on how to specify the columns you want to see displayed in the Match List. When you change the choice (or order) of displayed columns, the program remembers your choices, even after you close the Search Results window. The next search you perform will bring up a new Search Results window with the same set of columns that you most recently specified.
There are two kinds of modifications that you can make to the layout of the Match List by clicking and dragging with your mouse on the Match List display:
· You can re-order the columns in the Match List by clicking and holding down the left mouse button in the top row (containing the column names), and then dragging the column to the right or the left. Release the mouse button when the column is positioned where you want it, and the Match List will be re-drawn in its new configuration. (You can also change the order of columns by using the Field Selection Dialog.)
· You can modify the width of an individual column by clicking and holding down the left mouse button in the top row (containing the column names), at or just to the left of the right-hand dividing line for the given, and then dragging to the left or right to change the width of that column. The program will remember the last selected width of each named column, so that the next time you create a Search Results window, each column will be whatever width you previously specified.
The following two pictures show what the window looks like, and where the mouse cursor should be positioned, for each of these kinds of operations.
The first picture shows how to re-order columns, by dragging a column to a new location. You have clicked on the "Title" column-heading are are starting to drag the column to the right. When you have moved to the desired location, release the mouse button:

The second picture shows changing the width of a column. You have clicked near the right-hand edge of the Title column; drag right or left to change the column’s width:

Note: Because clicking in the column-headings row is used both to re-order columns and to re-size them, you might find that when you click on the column heading that you have selected a column for re-ordering when you intended to re-size, or vice versa. (As shown in the pictures, above, you can tell the difference by what happens when you click: If the entire column becomes highlighted, then the column has been selected for re-ordering; if a horizontal double-headed arrow appears, along with a vertical dashed line, then the column has been selected for re-sizing.) If you find that column re-ordering has been started, when you wanted to re-size the column, or vice versa, simply let go of the mouse button. Then re-position the mouse either closer to or further away from the dividing line between columns, and try again. You will soon get the feel of how to do these two kinds of operations.
You can also change the height of the rows, by clicking and dragging in the left-hand column on the dividing line between any two rows. When you change the row height, it affects all the rows, not just the rows adjacent to where you clicked. If you make the row height large enough to hold two or more lines of text within a single row, then any long text that doesn’t fit within its column will be broken into multiple lines, in order to make more of it visible. The following figure shows the Match List after the row height has been dragged to accommodate at least two lines of text.

When you modify the row height of the Match List, the new height is remembered during the current session. However the modified row height is not remembered across sessions; each time you start the program, the initial setting will be just one line-height high.
The sorting order of the rows in the list is shown at the bottom of the window. In the example shown above, the rows are ordered by Map-Maker (in ascending order), and within Map Maker by Title (in ascending order), and within Map-Maker/Title by Date (in ascending order). To modify the sort order, choose Sort from the View menu. (Or type Ctrl-S for accelerated access to the Sort Dialog.) See the section on the Sort Dialog for details on how to specify a sorting order. When you change the sort order, the program remembers your choices, even after you close the Search Results window. The next search you perform will bring up a new Search Results window with the same sort order that you most recently specified.
Use the scroll bars to move down to rows that are past the bottom of the window, or to view columns that are past the right-hand edge of the window. You can also use the navigation keys on your keyboard to move to different rows or columns:
Down Arrow Go to next row
Up Arrow Go to previous row
Left Arrow Go to previous column
Ctrl+Left Arrow Go to the first column
Right Arrow Go to next column
Ctrl+Right Arrow Go to the last column
Page Down Go down one screenful
Page Up Go up one screenful
Home Go to first row
Ctrl+Home Go to first row + first column
End Go to last row
Ctrl+End Go to last row + first column
Ctrl+Up Go to first row (same as Home)
Ctrl+Down Go to last row (same as End)
You can also resize the Search Results window to make more (or less) of it visible. The program remembers the size and position of the Search Results window, even after the window is closed, so that the next time you create a Search Results window it will have the same size and position as the most recently closed Search Results window.
There is a choice of the different font sizes for the text displayed in the Match List (and in the Item Details display, as well). Initially a Medium Font is used. To change this, select a different font size from the View menu.
One row of the Match List is always selected (highlighted by having a grey background). When you first create a Search Results window, the first row is initially selected. Click anywhere in a row to move the selection to a new row. The selected row is the one whose details can be viewed by clicking on the Item Details tab above the list. You can also switch to the Item Details for the selected row by hitting the <Enter> key on your keyboard.
You can change the currency used in the display of Price by choosing one of the five currencies listed in the Units menu. The selected currency has a check-mark next to it. If you change from one currency to another, the displayed prices will change. See the section on the Price field, and how currency conversions are performed using the conversion rates in effect at the time that the map price was recorded.
You can change the measurement units used to display Width and Height by choosing either Centimeters or Inches from the Units menu. The currently selected measurement unit has a check-mark next to it. If you change from one measurement unit to another, the displayed measurements will change. See the section on Height and Width for a description of how measurement conversions are performed.
You can print the Match List by choosing Print from the File menu (or typing Ctrl-P). The entire list (not just the currenly visible rows) will be printed. However, values which are not fully displayed in the cells of the Match List (for example, long titles, which are too wide to be fully visible), will also be truncated in the printed output. To guarantee that you get the full information printed for an entry, switch to the Item Details window, and print from there.
Once you have located and selected a row for a map you are interested in, click on the Item Details tab to see full information for that entry. As a short-cut, you can just double-click on any row of the Match List to quickly jump to the Item Details display for that item. You can also use the Refine menu to refine the displayed list to just show entries closely related to the selected one. See the section on Refining the List for information on this capability.
