STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS FOR RUNNING THE

ANTIQUE MAP PRICE RECORD CD-ROM SETUP PROGRAM ON MS/WINDOWS

1.      Insert the Antique Map Price Record CD-ROM into your computer’s CD-ROM drive.

2.      On the desktop (background screen) of your computer is an icon labeled My Computer.  It usually looks like this:

(If you don’t see this icon, it may be obscured by other windows.  Close any open windows, so that your desktop is fully visible.)
è Double-click on the My Computer icon.

3.      A window will appear which shows the disks and some of the other facilities on your computer.  Though the precise set of icons will vary from computer to computer, the window will look something like the picture below, and will include an icon, portraying a CD-ROM and a CD-ROM drive, labeled AMPR_V23.  The icon label will also include a drive letter, in parentheses.  Though shown as (H:) in the following picture, the letter may be something other than H on your computer.  Don’t worry about what letter you see on your computer; any letter is fine.

è Double-click on the AMPR_V23 icon.

4.      Another window will come up showing the files on the CD-ROM:

Depending upon your computer settings, the labels you see might not include the last part of the file names.  In other words, the “.exe”, and “.ini” parts might not be shown, and the window might look more like this:

è Double-click on the setup.exe (or just labeled setup if like in the 2nd picture) icon, which shows a picture of a computer and a box in front of it:

5.      The setup program for installing the Antique Map Price Record CD will run.  Just follow the instructions on the screen.  The setup only takes a minute or two.
